Dr. Julie D’Angelo

Managing DVM

Dr D’Angelo hails from the Cleveland, Ohio, area. She received her bachelor’s in science from Purdue University in 2005 and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2009. She has been in general practice and emergency care in the greater Lafayette/West Lafayette area since graduation! She focuses on providing her patients and their people the best in medicine and service. She is a Fear Free ® certified professional focused on minimal and low-stress handling techniques. Dr D’Angelo is also working towards becoming a Certified Pain Management Practitioner.

She lives in West Lafayette with her husband, their dog and six cats.

Dr. Grisselle Ambert

Associate Veterinarian | Bi-lingual en español

Dr. Grisselle Ambert is from the vibrant island of Puerto Rico. She embarked on her journey in veterinary medicine at Iowa State University, where she honed her skills and passion for animal care. Driven by a desire to make a tangible difference in the lives of animals, Dr. Ambert pursued her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, completing her clinical rotations at Purdue University.

Dr. Ambert is thrilled to be part of a new practice where she can bring her passion and experience to the forefront. She is particularly excited about the opportunity to provide urgent care at an affordable price, ensuring that pets receive the attention they need without financial barriers. Additionally, Dr. Ambert looks forward to immersing herself in the dynamic world of a startup and is eager to learn and contribute to its growth alongside her dedicated team.

Dr. Arika Nolan

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Arika Nolan has long recognized the human-animal bond as an essential component to her own personal wellness and knows firsthand what a meaningful impact the unconditional love of a pet can have on our lives. Dr. Nolan has always felt herself drawn to animals and has known since the age of 4 that she was destined to become a veterinarian. She is proud to be living out her childhood dream and finds immense joy in fostering this special bond between people and their pets through her work as a veterinarian.

Dr. Nolan has resided in West Lafayette since her time in undergrad at Purdue University, where she earned her BS in Neurobiology in 2011. Dr. Nolan went on to earn her DVM from Lincoln Memorial University in 2018 before returning home to Indiana, where she has lived and practiced as a veterinarian since graduating. She has opened her heart and her home to many animals over the years and holds a special place in her heart for the homeless animal population. The current permanent residents of Dr. Nolan’s humble abode include two dogs named Lady Godiva and Lodi Dodi, seven cats (in order of acquisition – RiRi, Nyssa, Delilah, Folger, Jasper, Oreo, and Khaleesi), and a potbelly pig named Barbie. There are many other animals that preceded her current menagerie who have since crossed over Rainbow Bridge, but are nonetheless worthy of a mention as their presence in her life during her formative years as a veterinarian was a major driving force in the thirst for knowledge that helped to shape her into the veterinarian that she is today.

When she is not busy at work or spending time with her own animals, Dr. Nolan enjoys traveling and any opportunity to experience different cultures and explore the world around her. She is an Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver, which has afforded her the ability to explore the world under water as well when she travels. She enjoys dancing, attending concerts and live music events, and festivals.

Dr. Nolan is Fear Free certified and takes a gentle handling approach with her patients. She is big on client education as she recognizes what a critically important role the owner plays in providing her patients with outstanding veterinary care. She is so excited to be a part of the incredible team at West Lafayette Veterinary Care and can’t wait to see this beautiful facility open up and start to make a tangible difference in the lives of pets and their families in her home community.

Dr. Sabrina Bailey

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Bailey is originally from the small town of Defiance, Ohio.

At the young age of 8, her passion for veterinary medicine blossomed when her family adopted a dog from their local shelter.  From there she volunteered and was involved in fundraisers to support the shelter.  She never looked back on her passion and dream which lead her to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences with an Emphasis in Pre-Veterinary Medicine at the University of Findlay.  She then went on to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the beautiful island of St. Kitts, followed by her clinical year at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her D.V.M.

After graduation, she stayed in Indiana and worked at the city shelter where she gained a passion for surgery, radiology, and of course, caring for the shelter animals.  After that she worked in Pennsylvania just north of Philly at a general practice where she fell in love with the bonds she made with the families and their furry family members.  Dr. Bailey is excited to be back in the area (closer to her family home) and begin making new bonds with the community members and fur babies and offer the best medicine she can. She loves to educate owners and help those who have questions! In her off time, she enjoys reading, golfing, cross-stitching, going on hikes with her boyfriend Bruce, and spending time with their three cats, Skitty, DaBaby, and Hotel Hitch California aka Cali and hopefully further furry family members to join!
