Our Doctors
Dr. Julie D’Angelo
Managing DVM
Dr D’Angelo hails from the Cleveland, Ohio, area. She received her bachelor’s in science from Purdue University in 2005 and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2009. She has been in general practice and emergency care in the greater Lafayette/West Lafayette area since graduation! She focuses on providing her patients and their people the best in medicine and service. She is a Fear Free ® certified professional focused on minimal and low-stress handling techniques. Dr D’Angelo is also working towards becoming a Certified Pain Management Practitioner.
She lives in West Lafayette with her husband, their dog and six cats.
Dr. Grisselle Ambert
Associate Veterinarian | Bi-lingual
Dr. Grisselle Ambert is from the vibrant island of Puerto Rico. She embarked on her journey in veterinary medicine at Iowa State University, where she honed her skills and passion for animal care. Driven by a desire to make a tangible difference in the lives of animals, Dr. Ambert pursued her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, completing her clinical rotations at Purdue University.
Dr. Ambert is thrilled to be part of a new practice where she can bring her passion and experience to the forefront. She is particularly excited about the opportunity to provide urgent care at an affordable price, ensuring that pets receive the attention they need without financial barriers. Additionally, Dr. Ambert looks forward to immersing herself in the dynamic world of a startup and is eager to learn and contribute to its growth alongside her dedicated team.
Dr. Arika Nolan
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Arika Nolan has long recognized the human-animal bond as an essential component to her own personal wellness and knows firsthand what a meaningful impact the unconditional love of a pet can have on our lives. Dr. Nolan has always felt herself drawn to animals and has known since the age of 4 that she was destined to become a veterinarian. She is proud to be living out her childhood dream and finds immense joy in fostering this special bond between people and their pets through her work as a veterinarian.
Dr. Nolan has resided in West Lafayette since her time in undergrad at Purdue University, where she earned her BS in Neurobiology in 2011. Dr. Nolan went on to earn her DVM from Lincoln Memorial University in 2018 before returning home to Indiana, where she has lived and practiced as a veterinarian since graduating. She has opened her heart and her home to many animals over the years and holds a special place in her heart for the homeless animal population. The current permanent residents of Dr. Nolan’s humble abode include two dogs named Lady Godiva and Lodi Dodi, seven cats (in order of acquisition – RiRi, Nyssa, Delilah, Folger, Jasper, Oreo, and Khaleesi), and a potbelly pig named Barbie. There are many other animals that preceded her current menagerie who have since crossed over Rainbow Bridge, but are nonetheless worthy of a mention as their presence in her life during her formative years as a veterinarian was a major driving force in the thirst for knowledge that helped to shape her into the veterinarian that she is today.
When she is not busy at work or spending time with her own animals, Dr. Nolan enjoys traveling and any opportunity to experience different cultures and explore the world around her. She is an Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver, which has afforded her the ability to explore the world under water as well when she travels. She enjoys dancing, attending concerts and live music events, and festivals.
Dr. Nolan is Fear Free certified and takes a gentle handling approach with her patients. She is big on client education as she recognizes what a critically important role the owner plays in providing her patients with outstanding veterinary care. She is so excited to be a part of the incredible team at West Lafayette Veterinary Care and can’t wait to see this beautiful facility open up and start to make a tangible difference in the lives of pets and their families in her home community.

Katie is a soon-to-be third-year veterinary nursing student at Purdue University. With nearly three years of experience, Katie has worked in animal shelters, laboratories, and hospitals, taking on various roles within the field of veterinary medicine. She is eager to complete her degree and become a registered RVT in the near future.
Sequoia
Registered Veterinary Technician
With five years of experience in the veterinary industry, Sequoia brings dedication and compassion to our practice. A graduate of Purdue University, Sequoia prides herself on being patient and flexible with her patients, ensuring they receive the care they need without unnecessary stress.
At home, Sequoia is a devoted pet parent to two dogs and three cats: Lady, a black lab mix; Niko, a husky; Matthew, a tabby cat; Scarlet, a calico cat; and Oliver, a long-haired cat. In her free time, she loves spending time outdoors, playing with her pets, enjoying time with friends and family, watching anime and TV, and playing video games.
Isabela
Customer Service Representative
Isabela is a dedicated Customer Service Representative (CSR) at West Lafayette Veterinary Care. With a lifelong love of animals through volunteering and years of hands-on experience, Isabela brings a wealth of passion and dedication to her role.
A graduate of Carroll High School who studied at Ball State University for two years, Isabela prides herself on her belief that animals possess souls and deserve nothing but the best care and attention. This philosophy drives her commitment to ensuring that every patient receives compassionate, top-notch treatment.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Isabela finds solace and joy in nature, often spending her free time hiking and camping. On quieter days, you can find her curled up with a good book or working on a crochet project, accompanied by her beloved pets—a 4-year-old border collie/Dalmatian mix named Indi and a rescued cat named Harley, who is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her kittens.

Sam T.
Registered Veterinary Technician
Meet Sam—one of our dedicated Registered Veterinary Technicians. Her passion for animal care ignited in her junior year of high school, leading her to embark on her journey in the veterinary industry in 2015, starting as a kennel/veterinary assistant.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology/Nursing degree and finds immense fulfillment in nursing critically ill patients back to health. Outside of work, Sam’s life revolves around her furry companions. She shares her home with two labs, Sassy and Victor (a retired Canine Educator at Purdue), and two cats, Lewis and Abraham, the latter being a resilient tripod. When she’s not caring for animals, Sam enjoys delving into a good book, cherishing moments with her family, especially her niece, cheering on Purdue basketball, and basking in the beauty of the outdoors.
Anastasia
Registered Veterinary Technician
Anastasia is a compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician dedicated to the well-being of beloved pets. Her journey in the veterinary field commenced during her freshman year of college in 2019, where she began as a kennel attendant and room assistant while pursuing her education. Anastasia’s commitment to her profession culminated in her passing the VTNE, earning her the esteemed title of RVT at the close of 2022.
Anastasia nurtured her academic endeavors at Purdue University, where she honed her skills and knowledge in veterinary medicine. She takes immense pride in providing a comforting environment for her patients, striving to ensure they feel as safe and cared for as possible during their time at the vet.
At home, Anastasia’s heart belongs to her beloved pets. She shares her abode with three black cats named Toothless, Jasper, and Po, who bring joy and companionship to her life. Recently, she welcomed a chocolate lab named Eve into her family, adding even more love to her home.
Beyond her work in veterinary care, Anastasia enjoys photography, exploring the beauty of nature, and embarking on travel adventures.
